About Faithful Forward

Helping churches remain faithful to their convictions while moving forward in their calling.

Context. Convictions. Culture. Too many churches lose the flavor and history that made them who they are while trying to stay relevant. We exist so they never have to.

Xavier Maryland

The heart of a pastor. The instincts of a builder.

Xavier didn’t learn church health from a book. He learned it in hallways after service, in staff meetings that went long, in hospital rooms, in the quiet drive home when the sermon landed and the budget didn’t. He knows what it feels like to carry a church you love and still wonder if you’re leading it well.

His voice was shaped by the Black church and sharpened in multicultural ministry. That inheritance shows up in how Faithful Forward works: emotional honesty, spiritual weight, practical wisdom, and zero tolerance for making pastors feel dumb.

Xavier communicates for change, not admiration. The goal of every assessment, Blueprint, and conversation is the same: help you see clearly, then help you move.

Mission & vision

More healthy churches.

Our mission is to help churches remain faithful to their convictions while moving forward in their calling. We partner with pastors and church leaders to strengthen church health through practical, biblically grounded leadership, systems, and strategy.

Our vision is to see thousands of churches become healthier and impact the communities around them: churches that honor their legacy without becoming captive to it, embrace wise innovation without compromising biblical truth, and faithfully pass the mission of the church from one generation to the next.

We will never pressure you to become a different church. Our commitment is to help you become a healthier one.

Core values

i.

The Bible is right

Scripture is our highest authority. Every recommendation begins with God’s Word.

ii.

Healthy over size

Healthy things grow. Lasting growth is the fruit of health, not the target.

iii.

Healthy leaders build healthy churches

The greatest investment a church can make is in the health of its leaders.

iv.

There’s only one Church

We celebrate churches, not compete with them. Humility, generosity, partnership.

v.

Steward today. Prepare tomorrow.

Shepherd the people God has entrusted to you while preparing for those He hasn’t yet.

Start where every healthy church starts: with an honest look.
